Halloween is approaching quickly and many of us are beginning to think about all of the things we can do this year. But more importantly, most people are thinking about what they are going to be. There are so many shallow Halloween costumes out there that folks do not want to be spotted in. Who can really blame them? But adult witch costumes have always captured people’s interest from the very beginning and it does not seem to be going away anytime soon.
The witch costume and the whole entire concept of what Halloween is about go hand in hand. What would Halloween be without a witch roaming the streets? Whether the witch is good or bad, it doesn’t really matter. If you take a handful of people and dress them up in all sorts of celebrities, bunnies, prisoners, cartoon characters, angels, vampires, and monsters, people are sure to be fascinated. But without the witch, the magical part of Halloween is lost. Sure, monsters and vampires are scary in their own respect, and everyone loves little angels and cartoons. But without a witch, it just doesn’t make sense. Everything has it’s own place on Halloween.
When you see someone wearing a witch costume, automatically, your eyes are hooked. There is something about her. She is powerful, hypnotic, and mysterious. However, if she so chooses, the witch can also be sweet, innocent, and sexy. Whether you are walking up and down main street this year taking your children trick or treating or attending a local Halloween celebration, you need to dress up for this once a year occasion. During Halloween, the weather is perfect and everything seems just right. It’s about fun, dancing, laughter, and candy. Before you know it, Halloween is here and then gone for another 365 days. It’s saddening, especially for those who consider it to be their favorite time of year and there are many.
Witch costumes comes in several different kinds of varieties. You can either choose to go traditional, funky, evil, sweet, sexy, colorful, or just plain spooky. One of the best things about there being so much variety is that you do not have to worry about someone else wearing the exact same type of costume as you. To spice up your witch costume, just add some special accessories. You may want to go with some eye-catching jewelry and makeup to intensify your look, or you might just want to grab a broom.
When you take away the witch, you take away the heart of Halloween. She may be one of the most original of all Halloween creatures, but she fits in just perfectly. Most of all, she belongs.

Yes, I love the witch costume for Halloween, too. I think she is the heart of Halloween. When you think of that time of year, you think pumpkins, witches, ghosts and candy! So I think witch costumes will always be a staple…

What a lovely costume on the far right! It’s so elegant – if you have a great figure, that would be a fantastic costume to wear. Witches are so versatile as a Halloween costume choice_- they can be scary if you apply some scary makeup, or they can look really cute if you see some of the costumes that are out there for little toddlers, for example. I think that’s part of the allure of witch costumes – they are so versatile.

I agree with Beth, the costume on the right is gorgeous, slinky & scary at the same time. I think it’s what the wicked witch of the west would look like if she went on extreme makeovers. I love the purple one too though, it looks so much fun & to me witches & purple just seem to go together. I’m a hopeless case really, at this rate I’m never going to be able to decide what to wear for Halloween, there’s just too much choice.
