What is a backlink and why would you want one?

Backlinks are an important part of a well thought out offsite SEO strategy.
So how does a Dofollow blog comment fit in with this strategy?
Dofollow links are considered backlinks and are used by the search engines to help rank your site.
Many blogs contain what is called a nofollow attribute. This attribute prevents your blog post on another website from having any benefit to your site.
Dofollow blog comments are quickly becoming a favorite SEO strategy for many website owners.
You can use this strategy to build one way backlinks to your own website.
Here’s how it’s done.
When you find a blog that allows dofollow just read the article and leave a comment.
It is important that you leave a relative and useful comment or it may get deleted by the blog administrator.
Next put your anchor text in the name box and then your website address in the url field and hit the submit button.
That’s it, now you wait and see if your comment is approved and you’ve got your backlink.
Remember, to increase your chance of being approved or not being deleted after an auto approval be sure to post a useful and relevant commentJ

I appreciate the use of keyword luv because I myself have used it on several blogs. It really does work well to reward your readers for interesting comments, but you are so right about spammers because you will have to filter through a lot of spam with this plug-in. It’s still a great one to have to make your blog more active!
Your so right about the spam commenting, the way i see it the more you add to a comment the better, it’s hard this old seo game but you’re sites proof ranking 6th for a new site out of 3.400.000 great and well designed site and you content is great totaly unique, wish you all the best with the up and coming halloween season think your on to a winner
So far, what I have seen is that the comment luv and keyword luv are some of the best ways to bring in traffic.
The only problem I am having is figuring out why I am getting error messages and the 404 page.
Hopefully I will be able to find a way to make it work.

I have been reading alot about the backlinks related to SEO. Although they are great ways to build a foundation for google bots to believe your content is valid, there are so many other crucial things that help with pagerank. It seems as a crapshoot. Everyone is simply guessing, on many fronts. However, they are simply trying to make the internet more usable for everyone, and for the most part they are doing a great job.

I am really just learning about commentluv and keyword luv, but they seem like great plugins. I didn’t know anything about top commenters until I tonight, I guess it works the same way though.
It’s a good way to get back links to your web site.
People abuse this system, and so you need to moderate it if you make it dofollow, but it may also get you a lot of incoming links from other websites that link to dofollow blogs.

I’m just learning about keywordluv and commentluv. I do not think I can use them on my blog because it is a blogspot blog but I have removed nofollow. Seems to be the best that I can do at the moment.
I don’t think your being harsh, it’s your blog and you should be able to do with it what you want. I’m just glad that there are some commenluv and keywordluv blogs around for me to experiment with so that if ever I can use those I will know what I’m doing…maybe.
